The Preamble is a dynamic series of events and experiences for all new Mason undergraduate students. Students will have the opportunity to meet their fellow Patriots, learn more about the academic expectations of the university, participate in New Student Convocation, and engage in the biggest pep rally and dance party in Mason history!

The Preamble is for all new Mason Patriots–residential and off-campus, freshman and transfer. Both days of The Preamble are required for all freshman students entering Mason in Fall 2017. The Preamble is optional for transfer students.

Students can park in Lot A or K, no permit required, on the days of The Preamble.

The schedule for August 25:

• 9:30am – New Student Convocation (all students are encouraged to wear their green Patriot Pride t-shirt, which they received at Orientation)
• 10:45am – Rotation 1 (activity and location will vary by group assignment)
• 12:00pm – Lunch (location will vary by group assignment)
• 1:15pm – Rotation 2 (activity and location will vary by group assignment)
• 2:45pm – Rotation 3 (activity and location will vary by group assignment)
• 8:00pm – Hypnotist- Josh McVicar in Dewberry Hall
• 10:00pm –  Guardians of the Galaxy 2 at JC Cinema
